Requirements for Real Estate Courses


To become a licensed real estate representative in Canada you must successfully complete a course of study as required under the Real Estate Act of your resident province.

To be able to get admission in The Salesperson Registration Education, your age must be 18 or more, you should be a Canadian citizen must have an Ontario Secondary School Diploma or an equivalent diploma or you are required to give an admission test for real estate courses which is designed to meet the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005, requirements of equivalence to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma.



Study Courses 


Course 1 – The very first step gives you an introduction of the benefits, challenges and limitations of a real estate career. Provides details regarding salesperson responsibilities, how the marketplace operates and what principles impact value, along with in-depth real estate calculations needed for listing and selling property.


Course 2 – After completing the first course, this course gives you the knowledge you need to assist buyers and sellers making marketplace decisions and focus on Property ownership rights and limitations, Current land registry systems and planning processes including land use restrictions, Statutory and legal requirements affecting real property, Marketplace trading practices are emphasized, as is a solid grounding in residential construction, agency relationships, and widely-accepted property valuation methods.


Course 3- Course 3 General & Advanced Residential OR Course 3 General & Advanced Commercial

General and Advanced Residential course is designed to teach the students about demands of today’s residential marketplace. It stresses on skills for agency documents, residential agreements of purchase and sale, agreements to lease, offer preparation, counter-offers, clause writing, mortgage financing, and the use of standardized forms and procedures.

General and Advanced Commercial investment focus on making decisions and the fundamentals of buyer or seller representation including proposals and marketing strategies. You will draft agreements and prepare related documentation. Emphasis is on discussions and exercises, which include speciality areas such as retail and office leasing, sale of businesses, and industrial real estate.


Property Law


Property law is the mediatory course in Articling field. In this course student learn the challenges often faced by practitioners when negotiating offers, preparing agreements, drafting clauses and concluding sales. This course helps to gain skills to better analyze real estate situations and make informed decisions in the fast-paced real estate market.

Real Estate courses also include four more subjects they are Principles of Mortgage Financing, Principles of Appraisal, Real Estate Investment Analysis and Principles of Property Management. These four courses are electives and students have to choose one of these according to their choice.
